Edit: And maybe Nintendo could let players choose additional online play modes based on Tiers (both user-defined and/or updated by Gamefreak depending on assessment the competitive environment). I propose modes where either the Tier determines how many Pokémon/items you can bring in (ŕ la SNK vs Capcom), or what Pokémon/items can be brought in. See also: Why Quick Claw Edit, again: .... And maybe more Shedinja-style Pokémon; the Poison-Ghost type shed skin of an Ekans cum Arbok or the empty Ghost-Flying shell of a former Togetic (with eyes glowing from inside!).

What is the deal with everyone wanting Light Types? Psychic is already the antithesis of Dark, and just what Pokémon would qualify for Light Type status anyways? Is there a light-based move that I don't know about?
If they add a type, it should be Sonic, since there are already a number of Normal Type moves with a sound attribute and the Levitate-like Soundproof ability. |

As for light Pokemon I can't think of any current ones that would make a good light type, but I know I've thought of an evolution for Garfiii(horrible spelling FTW XD) that would be light/Psychic. Plus who says any current Pokemon have to inherit that type. There were no 1st gen Pokemon that were dark types and the only the Magamite family were 1st gens that inherited the Steel type... The sound type does seem like an interesting idea. I've thought up of a hummingbird-like Pokemon in my list of fan Pokemon and that probably would make a better sound/flying type than a light/flying type wouldn't it... I think the point is that any sort of new type for the next gen would be sweet. I mean it has been a whole 2 new Pokemon generations since an introduction of a new type. |
