It's pointless to put EVs in speed.I would put those into defense, besides that it looks ok.Standard to be fair.

you just copy-pasta'd this from smogon.
normally Rate This X threads of one specific pokémon are for original moveset idea.s taking standard sets and putting them into a Rate My Team thread can work, as you're doing something (team-building) on your own. any rating one could give here is for the work of someone on smogon, so it's rather pointless ;/

Water Grass Ice All 200% damage. Ok let's think about the pokemon using those moves Let's assume STAB; For Ice: Weavile using Ice Punch (+ Def 4 donphan) For Grass: Breeloom using Seed Bomb (+ Def 4 donphan) For Water: Gyarados using Waterfall ( + Def 4 donphan) Donaphan is slow, but very powerful and still capable of taking a hit or two. One advantage of using a Choice Band Donphan is to hammer Ghosts that switch in, expecting to block his attempts to Rapid Spin. This also takes full advantage of Donphan's very impressive base 120 Attack. Many potential switch-ins on him are special attackers, who tend to be rather weak defensively and will be unable to withstand powered up hits. Starmie for example, is very likely OHKOed by an Earthquake, while Gengar can be OHKOed with Stone Edge and Sceptile can take a whopping 81% from Ice Shard. Ice Shard also becomes a fantastic tool for slaying Dragons with the boost from Choice Band, OHKOing most Salamence. |

I know dudes! lol I need a second opinion though!
But as I was saying would it make more sense to put the evs in spd or def? I mean if Ice Shard is in my moveset why take out the ev's in spd? Ice shard would be good for pokes like Tyranitar and dragon types like Flygon. |

Well dr00, I was thinking of keeping the ev's in speed since donphan is already strong. It's going to need the speed for pokes like metagross and tyranitar. Right? Can I get a halelujah?!

*claps*
You're thinking of outspeeding a Tyranitar?? You're thinking of outspeeding anything with Dophan? >_> Special, huh. You guys can have fun with your choice band on a physical wall, whereas we cann all go hang out in proper competetive battle with our physcial wall doing an ok job, Donphan's main point is walling, and spinning out spikes, sadly it's weak even with a priority move and choice. The suprise factor is terrible, after one attack, you'll see it coming, and they'll switch in something bigger and more scary, then you'll bail (If you have any sense) and when you switch in, you'll be down a physical wall. Imagine having that donphan as your last poké, with things like PG-Z coming at you as late game sweepers? Exciting. Cheers. |

Actually, Donphan gets a lot of handy tools in Platinum that make it a very interesting choice bander. For example, he gets Gunk Shot, Seed Bomb, and superpower. Cya Celebi, Swampert, and T-tar (plus others :0).
