The Roost effect?

(If theres another thread like this please lock and redirect me.) I dont know if any of you have noticed the way that Roost takes the flying part of your poke until a diffrent move is used. I just noticed this a few weeks ago and totally tripped out! For example if Skarmory were to use Roost, an Earthquake would be able to hit it with super effectiveness. Not sure if it would make a 4x weakness 2x but it would make sense. Just putting it out there.

it's sorta common sense... The pokemon can't exactly fly while it's roosting, now can it?

yep, pretty much common knowledge. Roost is a double-edged sword (more harmful than helpful) but could be used if you anticipate an attack that will hurt your flying attribute and you need healing anyways. (assuming your pokemon goes first lol. if it's skarmory, tough luck)

it's not always harmful. when skarmory roosts, he's no longer weak to electric, and resists ice and rock instead of being neutral to them.

that is correct, also when a pokemon like gliscor uses roost its not 4x damage to ice anymore, and any other flying that is not flying and normal, they gain weaknesses and also lose weaknesses

No he can't. He'd become the ??? type and that's a glitch.

If you hack roost on to him, he faints automactically and the game crashs. We did an experiment about it on Nintendo Hub once. The effects can vary though. It could be from crashing your game to being able to use it for a little while......then it crashes your game.
