New Handheld Console to be released by Holiday (not Nintendo)
 Handheld wonder-console ‘The Pandora’ is set to be on sale in the UK in time for Christmas, slapped with a price tag of £199.99. The same-name designers revealed the release date and price of the PC-games console hybrid, and added that it is now the most powerful palmtop console in the world. With 800×480 resolution, a tasty 4.3 inch touchscreen display, which is raised above an impressive 43-button QWERTY keyboard, it’s set to leave the Sony PSP and Nintendo DS lite in it’s dust. The first batch of consoles being shipped to the UK will be only three thousand strong when December rolls around, probably making it an instant sell-out. Designers have set out to bridge the gap between handheld gaming and desk-top computing. The Pandora will run a Linux operating system, be wifi enabled, feature Bluetooth connectivity and have internet connection via Firefox 6. All this comes of before we even begin to mention its 10-hour battery life. But Pandora developer Craig Rothwell put the icing on the cake, revealing that: “You will be able to play games like Quake III with ease and at the cutting edge even Doom III.” In a recent interview, he explained that to build a dream handheld console, the designers had to consult the people who knew best… The gamers themselves! “Late year we started asking them [the gaming community] what they would like in their dream handheld and to give us their designs” he said, “we got thousands of replies – the original thread on the GP32x.com forum is hundreds of pages long.” “Using these suggestions we tweaked our original design and added various internal things such as Bluetooth, analogue joysticks, microphone, extra solder pads for hackers and a bigger battery.” With all these gadgets packed into one powerful little box, the Pandora will be in high demand this Christmas, with avid gamers already trying to throw down their pre-order deposits! However, there are a lot of gamers that only play or enjoy playing PC games, so this may be just what they were asking for, seeing that Nintendo's new handheld isn't due for quite some time. My questions are: 1) How would PC games work on a handheld? and 2) Are you planning on getting this when it's released?

Wait...it plays PC games? That's cool I guess...um...I'm not to sure...I don't think it can beat out the DS...but it should give the PSP some competetion...only in Europe huh? Dang.

It looks nice, but a little expensive for my taste. It is almost $400. It looks better than a PSP or DS, but the DS is 1/3 the cost.

The design is not to bad on the eyes @tleast
 The article states that its the most powerful handheld in the world so that means obviously the graphics should be awesome!? They gotta show some actual game footage and show some exlusive developments to make this solid. The numbers are sooo low for its launch i really dought that its gonna even be any competiton for the PSP and forget about getting near DSlite numbers! This is something i will pick up AFTER it drops in price.
