Two touch screen DS?

Nintendo is planning to launch a new DS handheld games system next year, according to US blog Kotaku.

The story, which claims the DS successor will feature two touch-sensitive screens, said the device would not be offically announced until after Christmas.

The DS is still selling well in the US and Europe, but sales of the handheld have fallen in Japan during the three months to June this year.

According to the NPD Group, as of June 30, 2008 sales of the DS topped 20 million in the US.

Actually rethinking about it. I'd probably buy it considering I still own the orginial heavy DS... a nice upgrade would be nice.. Thanks Xan now I know to just wait until that comes out before I buy another handheld..

I wonder If this is a whole new system or a new model. This seems a bit to small for a new system, but to big for a remodel.

As for the new system it should have an Accelerometer, Multitouch screen, Internal Hard Drive or Memory Solution (SD Card Slot), Downloable Gameboy Advance Games and Applications, Use of UMDs, and analog stick!

Wow already? I didn't think I'd be hearing THIS news until sometime around Christmas of NEXT year. Still I'll probably end up getting it cause I LOVE playing on a lot of the handheld Nintendo games

Two touch screens? That's probably going to confuse a lot of people, including myself.

Will it still have two screens (top and touch screens) but the top screen is also touch-sensitive? I don't get it... but who knows? Maybe Nintendo will make something better than the DS. May turn off some casual gamers due to its complexity, but I think it should be given a try.
