The DS is by far the superior handheld.
Anything the PSP can do the DS can do as well and probably better, that goes for music movies graphics you name it... but oh wait! there is one thing that the DS doesn't do that he PSP does... LOADING TIMES!!! |

Tetris 2 Advance Wars DS Mario Kart DS Super Mario 64 DS Metroid Prime DS Phantom Hourglass FFXII: Revenant Wings Contra 4 Mario Party DS Picross DS Sonic Rush Adventure Dragon Quest Monster: Joker Pokemon: Diamond and Pearl Yoshi's Island DS Elite Beat Agents Pheonix Wright Ace Attorney New Super Mario Bros. Castlevania DS Meteos Animal Crossing DS Hmmmm... Does the PSP even have that many games? =P In any case, if you're going to get a PSP you'll want one capable of Custom Firmware. A modded PSP is better than a DS, I'll admit that. But to those who are going to just buy a brand new console, no modding involved, DS is the way to go. |

Okay, now I've played the PSP a few times and have never been impressed. Last year at Star Wars Celebration IV I got a chance to play Renegade Squadron. Now, I'm a huge Star Wars fan and love the Battlefront series, y'know so I was expecting the guy to hand me an xbox or PS2 controller, instead, I get the freakin' PSP. What was wrong with it? Controls. Such a great idea, customizable soldiers, more levels, hero ships in space, I was wondering if Sony suddenly started to hate money, because the controls were terrible.
Other games I've encountered tend to be 2-d fighters and racing games, both kinda lame. |

I've owned both and prefer the PSP. The DS just didn't have enough variety to whet my gaming appetite; most of its games are gimmickly poke-a-thons. I bought the PSP for awesome games like Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles, Mega Man X: Maverick Hunter, Twisted Metal Head-on, and Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War.
