No more a rumor its true nintendo is banning MK wii cheaters, nintendo is doing this Bcuz theres to much poeple cheating and the game become impossible for the people who play fairly. (example:35,000 VR, Unlimited blue shell, Bullet Bill, Mushrooms, Stars, Bombs etc...)

How they know? Nintendo is frequently checking the WW and Regional races when they see a cheater they block the MAC ID, IP Address , WII FC and all related wi-fi FC in the console. However, considering HBC is not a prerequisite for Mario Kart online cheating, nor does it have any direct relationship with it nintendo is not banning the consoles with HBC only the MK online cheaters.

hmm...well its about time nintendo took some real action against the hackers...been havin to deal wif that crap since MKDS came out ~_~.
i do understand them banning the ppl who cheat on MKWii wifi...but judging from the pic...is it rly necessary to ban the brawl hackers as well? i mean unlike MKW hacks, brawl hacks are just used for fun, not to be a jerk an piss off everyone online. i mean, it's not like they keep track of your record on random brawls...so why ban it?

At the moment nintendo is only banning MK cheaters not brawl but when you get banned you cant play any online game in the banned wii

Well, it took them long enough to do this. I am assuming that this will prevent people from getting .098 on TT's and claiming the number spot on the leaderboards than? I'm actually happy they are doing this, it is really unfair to people who play legitimately. Although, if they ban online brawl hacks, that is going to suck ._.. But, otherwise this is great news. I'm sure it well be possible for hackers to unban themselves in the near future. So, we might as well enjoy this while it lasts.

Banning them from the game they can prove you are cheating in is one thing, but banning them from ALL online play? That's just unfair, particularly when multiple household members may use the console, but only one person may be involved in the cheating.

It may be a bit harsh but Nintendo has put up with this for so long, they are doing everything in their power to stop it. Like I mentioned before. There will be a homebrew app that will change everything soon enough. There is nothing to worry about.

I completely agree, but it's the people's fault. The people over at WiiRD don't even support WiFi cheating, they warned everyone and unfortunately, this is what it comes too. Knowing how hackers cheat online, there will be codes that work and you won't be banned for it. I am unsure if you are aware of the game SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 2 for PSP but they have made countless attempts to ban users who have been hacking, with each and every update comes a new batch of No 35 codes. Think of error 35 as error 20102, you get banned if caught cheating. So in my honest opinion, Nintendo did nothing to help the matter, if anything. Things will be turned around or unaffected. Possibly even get worse.

But, it is a bit extreme to ban users from Nintendo Wi-Fi connection completely. I agree with you on that detail.

EDIT: I thought I would throw this in, just be happy Nintendo doesn't brick your console for soft/hard system hardware modifications like Microsoft does with the Xbox 360.
