They must get first ALL the time to max it out. Don't like how the points are calculated either. Race a bunch of lower lv point racers and if you get 2nd...you still minus. It's hard for me to break 8000...

For battle (since know one mentioned it yet) maybe 6000+.

The highest I've seen is Flyingwolf for races.

But no one can get a could score for battle because it depends too much on your team. Even if you are good at it, your team mates can still bring your score down.

How can you cheat?
If you disconnect then i believe you lose VR but i guess you could find a bunch of noobs for a cheap VR.

Mine is over 8700 now, But the highest i've seen is 9600 (The guy did'nt put up much of a challenge in any races).

But you have to be first in EVERY race in order for that to work. Otherwise, second place will still get you a negative score.

yep its true....unless your in a group with alot of higher ratings...then you'll start getting minuses for getting even 2nd place....started happening to me around 9500...

The only over 9000(!!1) score i've seen, is DH's lol. I think the game groups you with people with similar scores to you...

I suspect that anyone with the max 9999 points probably just resets if they lose... You'd have to win like every single race! Nobody's THAT good. -_-
Everyone gets unlucky once in a while and gets destroyed by blue, followed by red shells on a crap track like Luigi Circuit or Yoshi Falls...
