Trades forums are....well, to trade Pokemon. There are many reasons why people make threads. They are the following:

-Competitive Pokemon (For Tourneys,Clan wars, etc.)
-Shinies
-Events
-Pokedex completion

(Last reason is : any item/Pokemon you are looking for, those should be posted in the Small Trade Thread)

This thread will show you how to make your thread more popular so that it doesn't get shoved all the way back to page 3. No you want your thread to be the most popular.

How to make a ''Competitive Pokemon'' trade thread.

Where to start? Well the obvious thing to NOT do is to post which Pokemon you have then posting you want high EV/IV Pokemon without giving specific information to yours.

Now this thread can be divided into sub-categories: EV trained Pokemon, IV bred Pokemon or even both.

Post EACH Pokemon's data like this:

EV trained Pokemon (Least used sub-category, but it's considered as one)

Usually this category is for Pokemon without outstanding IV's, but you trained these Pokemon (Or not) and maybe someone will like them.

-Pokemon (Lv.)
-Nature
-Ability (If it has more than 1)
-EV spread (If your Pokemon belongs in this category, then it's a must that you post the EV's)
-Stats (Only do this if you do not know how to find IV's, it's better to post stats at Lv.100)
-Moveset (People are also interested in egg moves, so this data is very important)

IV bred Pokemon

Very simple category, this is usually for untouched Pokemon or touched pokemon with wiped EV's

-Pokemon (Lv.)
-Nature
-Ability (If it has more than 1)
-IV's (I'm afraid it's better to say the IV's than the stats at Lv.100, since it is your responsibility for the information of your Pokemon)
-Moveset (Special moves are a thumbs-up, since people look for them alot)

EV trained and IV bred

Nothing new here, it is just a combination of both the other sub-categories.

-Pokemon (Lv.)
-Nature
-Ability (If it has more than 1)
-EV spread
-IV's
-Moveset

How to make a ''Shinies'' trade thread.

This must mean you're the master at using the Pokeradar and would like to find others who know how to use it so ya'll can trade shinies.

The best way to trade shinies is if they are untouched, and have a good nature (not required)

Post EACH Pokemon's data like this:

-Pokemon (Lv.) [Untouched is better, but if it's trained, consider wiping out all EV's]
-Nature (You may be lucky if someone wants a shiny with that nature)
-IV's (If it has amazing IV's, then it's an awesome shiny) [Not required]

How to make an ''Event'' trade thread.

Are you trying to ''collect'' them all? This guide will show you how to make an awesome event thread so you can show your collective skills.

How to do an event thread:

-This thread is usually an event for event thread (Unless notified)
-Clearly state what you are looking for (Most used reason: ''Events I do not have'')
-It is better to divide your events into categories so that the other member can orientate himself easily through your thread.
-Professionals like to keep their events untouched, but occasionally we always manage to get touched events (Not much exp. gain)
-Finally, this isn't required, value your events so that you do not trade a rare event for a common one.

Collect them all and you're officially a master.

How to make a ''Pokedex completion'' trade thread.

This is for those who wish to finally complete their pokedex's, but they need help from others cause alone you simply cannot do it.

How to do the thread:

-Hopefully you would need less than 30 Pokemon before starting this thread otherwise you would have a giant list of wants.
-If you need a Pokemon that evolves, simply ask for the 1st evolution stage of that Pokemon (Don't make a useless list, example: ''I want Larvitar, Pupitar, Tyrannitar, etc. to complete my pokedex'')
-Clearly state what you have to offer (Basically you should offer anything other than the list of wants)
-Once you have collected all the Pokemon you need, you have succeeded!

IMPORTANT ADVICE

-Clone your Pokemon if you can (It's great to keep an extra copy of your event,EV/IV Pokemon because you do not want to give your only one away)
-If you ever do 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 deals, make sure that the member is trustworthy (Scammers are found everywhere)
-Don't bump your thread simply like that, you must have a good reason (New Pokemon added or important updates)
-Do not spam threads (listen to the rules they apply)
-After reading this, hopefully you'll know how to make amazing trade threads and that you won't make random ones as seen in the past.

Thank you very much, I was thinking of making a Trade Thread.

Quick question. If you traded a pokemon, and the person who received the item got it and found out it was a hack and you trade back, and the pokemon was a hack that you recieved by someone else and you didn't know. Would you be marked?

If you didn't know and it was accidental than you shouldn't be marked.
