Transparent Background Render Tut.

ok this is a problem i just recently had and i don't know if there is anyone else who has this problem as well so i will make this for anyone in need.

If you are a member of the site called: www.planetrenders.net then you will know its an awesome place for rendering. This tutorial is mainly for people who get their Renders from there.

Here we go;
  • Go to www.planetrenders.net
  • Become a Member
  • Find a render that you like
  • Click it
  • Once you have clicked it you should have been taken to a picture of the render with a black background on it
  • Click that picture again
  • Once you have clicked this one, you should have been taken to a larger version with a white/blue/etc. background
  • Right Cllick the render
  • Click on "Save Picture As"
  • Save the Render as a "PNG (*.png) file.

Ok now that is for making sure that the render doesn't have a background whenever you choose to use it. Now here is how you actually use the render on gimp.
  • Start Up Gimp
  • Go through all the stuff where you are just picking the Measurements of your Design.
  • Once you have the window where you will be doing your artwork, click on " File>Open As Layers"
  • A list of your pictures should pop up
  • Find the render that you saved and upload it.
  • Done.

Thats how you get a render to get a transparent background.
Btw, You can also have a background then add the render, its not like you have to add the render first. Its your choice.
