Any other commitments that may take away from the fullness of this job: Let's see... I moderate the News, General Gaming, Animal Crossing, Pokemon and Anything and Everything forums here on NintendoPals... I have University coming up soon. Lol... Prior Experience with Game Reviewing and/or Writing: None, never thought I'd be able to write reviews with my crappy writing skills, but I gave it a try and it just sorta... Flowed. I guess my love and knowledge of games overcame it. ![]() de Blob Review Sonic Unleashed [Wii Review] Why should you be on the Review Team?: Hmm... I have a large collection of Wii and DS games, and usually get the big titles on release day, although this is usually much later in UK. =/ I play a wide variety of genres, and have a good depth of knowledge of gaming in general. I feel I can look at games in an unbiased way regardless of any hype and such... I've been a constantly active member of this site for about 2 and a half years now. I follow orders well. Side note: It would probably be best I talk it through with someone first, given my other responsibilities, and will completely understand if you just day no. x] |

Any other commitments that may take away from the fullness of this job: Pretty much school mainly because I have important exams this year. Prior Experience with Game Reviewing and/ or Writing: Well, I wrote an article for my School Newspaper and an article for a school magazine. I really enjoy writing and usually achieve Credit passes on all of my pieces of writing. I've done critical essays of novels, poems, plays. Battalion Wars 2 Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Why should you be on the review team?: Well, I feel that I could benefit from the expierience of being on the review team. I'd love to help others learn how to write good, critical reviews. I also work very well on a team and I feel being part of the review team could help me continue to develop my writing skills and also help me achieve my goal to become a games reviewer. |

SpeeDemon, Rorschach, and Koopa Chrissy:
Your applications have been denied. The Review Team finds your work great and impressive, but it is not quite enough to make it on the team. You all are very close and with a little bit more effort, you will most likely make it. Common mistakes I noticed were: - Review Format (amount of pictures, everything is organized and neat, etc.) - Grammatical/Punctuation errors (very small flaw, just keep an eye on it) - Amount of information Be sure to check the Review Standards and How to Make Reviews threads every once in a while. It never hurts to refresh your memory. |

Commitments: College, but I only go 3 days a week and I work weekends (short shifts) but that really shouldn't be much of a problem. Prior Experience: I wrote some reviews for an old forum I used to have. EXAMPLE: TYRANT VIRUS WAS MY USERNAME, could not link as Review section of the forum is available to view for members only. Mirrors Edge Review Written by Tyrant V i r u s; Mirrors Edge is based in a city which is constantly under serveillance, everything is tracked ellectronically in order to crack down on crime within the city. Information has to be tracked from its sender to the reciever, however, to get around this problem a team of 'runners' has been assembled by Merc, an ex runner himself. You take the role of Faith Connors a female lead. Runners recieve pieces of physical information and use the rooftops and alleways in order to stay out of sight. As Faith you must uncover the secrets behind the death of Pope and why your sister has been blamed (Kate Connors). Via a first person view you must make your way through the city using different modes of transport, it isn't just your legs which you use. You start off by learning the basic with a friend of yours, you must learn how to slide under object, jump over them, grasp on to ledges and do combinations of wall runs to jumps etc. Once you have passed this level you are free to continue with the story. EA have done extremely well with their graphics in this game, and alot of time has been spent perfecting even the slightest details. For example, when Faith gains momentum the space around her becomes blared, hti an ibject hard and she will be in pain. Via first person you can only view her hands, if you look around however you will be able to see her feet and legs. A great FP look if I have ever seen one. Colours are nicely built together but I would say that the surrounding environments can get a little harsh on the eyes at some points. Which brings me on to real time affects, sunlight is very powerful in this game and can affect you. Stand directly in to the suns firing line and your vision will become impared, stand in the shadows and you will be fine. Falling is also another high point in this game, however I wouldn't recommend that you try this unless you feel up to restarting at the last known checkpoint. The stoyline was deffinately unique in many ways but the whole reason why you are continuing on this journey is unknown to me? Why couldn't you just leave? I can not mark EA down on this though, there are some high points within the game. PROS Graphics are of suberb quality, almost realistic if it wasn't for using a controller Use of light and surroundings is well used; you can deffinately use many objects and area of buildings when considering how to complete a level. Storyline is unique. CONS The story maybe lengthy in some forms but sometimes the reasons why you are going to these lengths to find and answer is uncertain. There is no online mode but you can challenge your friends 'ghosts' in the different time trials. You time will then be saved and you can add that time to the leaderboards if you wish. No too good. The bosses aren't exactly what I would deem as challenging. Why should i be on the team?: I reckon I could give a females point on view on many different games from sports to shooters. I enjoy gaming and take details in to mind, serious gamer? You could say that.. |
