Dr. Mario: Online Rx Review

Dr. Mario in my opinion was the greatest Tetris inspired puzzle released on the NES, along with it's even better sequel Dr. Mario 64 with 4-player, Flash Mode, CPU battles, and the classic single player. Dr. Mario: Online Rx is supposedly a remake of the NES version, but in my opinion it it a remake on the Nintendo 64 version. New features include Nintendo Wifi Connection, Virus Buster Mode, Mii Support, and leader-boards,Gamecube Controller/Classic Controller support, and more online features. Virus Buster was originally on Brain Age 2. Using the stylus to play Dr. Mario is is just replaced with motion control and 4-player Co-Op! This is a great addition and preferably the better mode.

The Graphics are not anything special, but they are not bad at all for a Wiiware game. I prefer having 2D/3D graphics than all 3D so I don't need to waste 350 blocks of memory. View the picture below to see how the graphics compare to the orginal.

The sound is one of the best parts of the game. Despite lack of new songs, it has 4 classic songs that never needed inprovement and got it anyway. It features: Fever, Chill, Cough, Sneeze, and remixes of Fever and Chill in Virus Buster. These songs are great and you know it, listen to the Fever below:

The game is fun by it self but it tends to get boring, playing with a friend makes it 4 times better but the Nintendo Wifi Connection is amazing! With text chat, sending a demo, and ranking, the core of the game is its Wifi. The Wifi is lag free for me and Worldwide like Mario Kart:Wii. View the Wifi video below to see what I mean:

Closing Comments
I'm not going to anything that has never been said before. The Wifi is the best part of the game. The only thing is single player can get boring after a while. If you are a fan of Dr. Mario I suggest getting it, If you have played the NES and N64's version you don't really need to get it. If you have never played it before I suggest you download it. The only thing it lacks it 4-player mulitplayer in Dr. Mario mode, and Wifi Virus Buster. Otherwise this game is one of the best Wifi ones yet!
