Intro
First thing first mega man starforce is a spin off from the popular game boy series mega man battle network.Now to start with the review btw for future notice this is my first review so forgive me if its sloppy.
Mega Man star force is capcom's newest megaman title that was released during the summer of 09.The game takes place in the far future were em waves are a great part of everyday life.The games hero this time is 5th grader geo stelar who is a boy who 3 years ago lost his father and closed connections to everyone
but now he has many friends even an alien to be close with.
little do most people know he lives with an alien who he merges with to become our present day megaman and has save earth twice from doom.
Story
Basically the game is about geo trying to save the earth from meoter G. which is on a course to destroy earth.while fighting out of control wizards infected by noise little does our hero knows that he to is being infected.using the power of noise mega man takes on multiple enemies even joining the police just to stop this in coming doom.
Gameplay
Now time to talk about games gameplay.
If uyou guys were expecting completely awesome gameplay differing from other MMSF titles this is not the game you are looking for. The gameplay is basically the same form the other 2 games.the concept is to defeat waves on enemies on a 3X5 battlefield shaped like a bored where you can only move left and right on 3 panels. This is not as bad as it sounds this is actually pretty challenging and fun,but this can get pretty old pretty quick.Luckily mega man is mega man without some new type of power up to aid him which is where the new noise system comes in.In about halfway into the game megaman will gain the ability to what the game calls a noise cahnge. this is similar to battle network 3's style change system.How this works is that megaman will enter a battle agaist giant sized viruses and after the battle is over he will randomly change into 1 of 11 different forms each with its own element and weakness (exacpt rouge noise).This was a great idea but it seems a little one sided because in order to build up noise you have to use non elemental non dimming cards which means if you build a folder based on your noise it may be hard trying to build up noise due to the fact u can't use elemental cards such as water if your cancer noise to build up noise.
Despite this it really isn't all that bad now time to get to the games main goodies
. There are to versions of this game black ace and red joker once you build your noise level to 200% you can use your ultimate form which one you get depends on what you buy.The ultimate forms of this game are amazing but they are not completely balanced. Not to say red joker sucks but me and my friend play this alot and i own black ace and he owns red joker and we compared abilities what over powered folder you get at each level and each versions respective ultimate attack and its clear black ace is the superior form.9 time out of 10 black ace is gonna have the superior folder and overwhelm red joker and the fact that red joker's finisher is not a garunteed 600 damage due to the fact that the lasers in the sky and the one mega man shoots can easily miss.while black ace has a pretty much promised hit on the oppenent regardless of what the due unless they disapear off the field or block.As always capcom delivered pretty well in the boss battle department where the bosses all require unique strategy's to beat easily.The folder editing is good as ever exept with the fact that fav cards are gone and replaced with random white cards.Overall the gameplay is the same as previous versions and that means capcom has to cahnge things up or the game will get boring.
Multiplayer
This game does decent on the multiplayer area where you can form a brotherband with friends and make your megaman stronger. You can also battle with a friend in the neighborhood or any around the world with the games use of wifi connection.
Graphics
okay this is gonna be short and sweet the graphics in this game during the middle of a battle is impressive for a ds game but not top notch.Sadly when roaming around the world the game sports the same old battle network style of almost game boy graphics.which is embarassing for someone like capcom.
Sound
The sound in this game is top notch from the main them to the credits capcom out done themselves in this area,Also for those who have been jeoulous of japs for the voice overs in their version of the game the english usa version also has voice over for the characters.The down side is that the voice acting isn't the best. the characters who did the voices in the anime aren't in this game and quite frankly the voice of geo could have been better at times it sounds like he is extending the phrases to long and sounds scratchy.Also he doesn't pronounce attacks correctly such or doesn't say them as him sounding like he says battle blazer or atom blazer when he does atomic blazer.overall voices need improvement.
Ending
All in all megaman starforce3 is pretty much the same game you have been since the first one with the exeption of the noise forms.For those who are wondering if this is worth 30$ to get.my answer is if your not a fan and you don't have wifi connection or a friend that owns this you should not get this game you will entertainment in the beginning but as sometime goes buy you will be ready to trade it in.
