Storyline

Naruto Shippuuden is the continuation of the original animated TV series Naruto.The story revolves around an older and slightly more matured Uzumaki Naruto and his quest to save his friend Uchiha Sasuke from the grips of the snake-like Shinobi, Orochimaru. After 2 and a half years Naruto finally returns to his village of Konoha, and sets about putting his ambitions to work, though it will not be easy, as He has amassed a few (more dangerous) enemies, in the likes of the shinobi organization; Akatsuki.

Two and a half years have passed, and a 15 years old Naruto returns to the Leaf Village. He's taller and has a new outfit, but still retains his prankster nature and hot- headedness. To the dismay of many, some of Jiraiya's pervertedness seems to have rubbed off on Naruto as well. Time has passed for many of Naruto's friends as well, they have advanced from Genin to Chunin and some even became Jonin.

In fact, Naruto is the only one who is still a Genin from his graduating class way back from the Ninja Academy. But there is little time for reunions. Akatsuki is on the move and continue to pursue their goal to capture all nine tailed demons, Naruto's own Kyuubi included. Their latest target, Gaara of the Sand.

Aswell as our favourite characters from the series we are brought with new ones to such as a character called Sai.

Sai

Personality

Sai has no emotions, Sai meets with hardship when he first joins Team 7. He initially tries to seem more caring by smiling, though his teammates come to dislike it due to his obvious insincerity. His repeated questioning of whether or not Naruto has a penis does little to help his standing, and only makes it more difficult for the two to get along. After spending more time with his team and seeing the bonds Naruto has formed with others, Sai begins to break out of his emotionless shell. Interested in the concept of bonds, and remembering that he once had a bond with his brother, Sai begins trying to create his own bonds. In doing so, Sai is able to start giving genuine, albeit awkward, smiles, and his team finds it easier to get along with him.



In his quest to acquire bonds with others, Sai develops the habit of giving people pet names, something that a book informs him helps to make friends. His initial attempts at forming bonds are marred by his naming people as he sees them, such as calling Sakura a "hag" or calling "fat". Upon finding that people dislike hearing how they really look, Sai begins saying the opposite of how he sees them, such as calling Ino "beautiful". With his pet names now finding success in forming bonds, Sai has since begun to try and be helpful to others. When Naruto's arm is left in a sling and he is unable to eat by himself, Sai forces large amounts of ramen into his mouth to feed him. Because Naruto wanted Sakura to be the one to feed him, Sai's actions do little to be helpful to Naruto.

Sai is a talented artist, and claims to have drawn thousands of pictures. Despite the magnitude of pictures he has drawn, he has told Sakura that he has never given one of his works a name, his lack of emotion making it impossible for him to give something a title.

Abilities

Sai's drawing ability is also the source of his jutsu. By drawing things with a brush on his scroll he is able to bring his creations to life, giving them an increased size and the ability to move. His Super Beasts Imitation Picture allows him to create birds that he can use for flight and lion-like creatures that he can use for attack. Likewise, by creating an Ink Clone of himself, he can perform a reconnaissance of an area without actually endangering himself. Sai can also transform words he writes on his scroll into small animals that seek out their target and revert back to words upon arriving, giving Sai an easy way to communicate. Kakashi refers to him as a long range specialist, though he can hold his own at close range using a short sword he carries on his back.
