This is Resident Evil for Gamecube.This a remake version of the classic hit from the Playstation version.This is perhaps one of the best Gamecube games available for the Nintendo Gamecube.If you thought Resident Evil 0 was hard, this just got harder.Just check out the rest of my review for more info enjoy.


Story
You are a member of S.T.A.R.S (Special Tactics And Rescue Squad).This time your not on Bravo Team, your on Alpha Team.Its like this the other team Bravo was on a mission, but their helicopter crashed down.So the Alpha Team is sent to rescue their comrades.So they fly in their copter over the forest till they find Bravo Team copter.They find it, to only find a dead body of Kevin, the pilot.Than all of a sudden one of Alpha Team members Joesph, gets attack and killed, by a group of zombie dogs.The dogs see their eyes on the other members than start chasing after them.Than their copter flies off without them.They see a strange mansion in their path, so they run for it.They make it safely, to only hear gun shots.So your gonna have to survive this nightmare by going through some zombies and monsters to save your comrades and yourself.Do you have what it takes?

Characters

(Note both of these characters have their own game so the story differs from each other)

To the right, is the 23 year old Jill Valentine.Shes very intelligent and quick minded.She will often get saved by Barry numerous times in her story.The plus about playing her game first is, its easier, she gets better weapons, gets a lock pick, she also get her weapons faster in the game.Flaws about her is she takes more damage, but thats the only bad thing.

To the left, is the 25 year old Chris Redfield.He just recently got kicked out of the air force.So he decided to join S.T.A.R.S.He's also intelligent and possesses great strength.Plus about playing as Chris, you get to play as Rebecca(from re0) in some parts, takes more damage.Flaws is much harder than Jill's story, gets weapons a bit slower than Jill, doesn't get a lock pick(has to find keys that you could go through using a lock pick).

Differences
You ask, whats so different about this game than the ps1 version?Well there are many things that are different, the graphics are greatly improved, the puzzles just got harder, a new boss thats not in the ps1 version Lisa Treavor, some new areas also, also added self defense items where you get attacked by a creature, you use your item on them you take no damage.The Voice acting is so much better.

Weapons
Jill's weapons range from knife, handgun, grenade luncher, shotgun, assault shotgun, self defense gun, magnum, Barry's magnum, and rocket luncher.Her self defense items are daggers and a stun gun(or teaser).

Chris weapons range from improved knife, handgun, shotgun, magnum, self defense gun, assault shotgun, flamethrower, and rocket luncher.His self defense items are daggers and flash grenades.

Graphics

These graphics are by far the best I've seen for Gamecube, even in some cases for Wii.Everything is greatly detailed as you can till from the zombies face and cloths.Even the backgrounds, look at the door you can see all types of cracks and dents.Thats just inside of the mansion wait until you go outside its over 9000!!!.(note the graphics look way better than this picture)

Game play


The game play is about the same as 0.You run around killing zombies and monsters.You solve mind bursting puzzles, where you are gonna get stuck at times.This game is for people who seeks a challenge.Its not gonna be easy like Resident Evil 4.You have to use your brain and sense of survival skills more.You do get auto aim in this game.To save you have to use ink ribbons you get a limited amount.

Sounds
As from that game play video the sounds, sound extremely well.The gun shots are just as good from 0.The head shots sound awesome and gross at the same time.The zombies moans are funny.The background music sound so silent and scary.When you get a special zombie attack they play this heart pounding music which will make you jump out of your seat or bed.This sounds are some of the best for Gamecube.

Replay Value
Theres a lot of replay value in this game.You play two stories right of the bat.If you beat this game under a certain time you unlock weapons with infinite ammo.You unlock costumes for the other games like Jill's re3 outfit.Also if you beat this game on a certain mode like easy, normal, hard you unlock new game modes like like invisible enemy, where all the monsters are invisible.Also more modes.So this game has great replay value.

Final Shot (conclusion)

This is one of the must owns for Gamecube.Everything is almost perfect graphics, superb single game play, and it keeps you on the edge of your seat.This game is quite hard to find now, which means its rare.If you see it buy it, you won't be disappointed.You can find this game used at a local Gamestop for the price of $19.99.Buy it now
