Super Paper Mario Review

SUPER PAPER MARIO REVIEW
This is my first review as a Review Team Member!

INTRO

The intro of this game is kinda cool. It shows a book (book of Dark Prognosticus) and in that book are the instrouctions to take over the world. Obviously Count Bleck is using it. That's pretty much it for the intro though.

STORYLINE

Basically the story is Blumiere (Count Bleck) got turned into Count Bleck when his body got taken over by evil. Now he has the special Power to make vortexes anywhere, even ones that can destroy multible worlds (which is really happening if you look behind in flip/flopside. In order to stop the destroying the worlds you have to re-unite Blumiere and Tippi (who's real name is timpani) and all the vortexes will disappear. It is really cool how it happens too, but you have to buy the game (and beat it) to find out.

GRAPHICS

The graphics for this game could be a whole lot better but you have to acknowledge that the Wii had just come out about 3 months before the game came out. You probably wouldn't expect the graphics to be like Brawl. The graphics are pretty good though. The idea they came up with, being able to switch between 2 and 3-D is really cool. Some enemies are shown only in 2-D but some are only shown in 3-D. Some allies you have to reveal like pixls (which I will get into later.) Some times you even have to reveal other pixls with pixls. Basically the game is set in 2-D format. Even when you switch to 3-D most enemies will still look like . . .well . . .paper.

SOUND

The sound for this game is pretty good. I would have to say though it could be better. All you can hear is you moving, but nothing else. You can't hear the walking of enemies. In fact the olny enemies you can hear walking are the Muths and the Mega Muths (that includes dark muths.) You can't hear the flapping of wings yet you can hear the faintest sounds of Mario's feet. I don't get it. In my opinion I would try to atleast let the players hear the walking of enemies. Again that is just my opinion.

VALUE/REPLAY VALUE

The value for this game is really good. Once you buy it, you won't want to stop playing it. It is so fun to collect all the cards, level up, play mingames, redo Castle Bleck, The Pit of 100 Trials, and try to find all the treasures. Once you beat it you are still far from over with the game. There are four files (good thing too) so you can start other games. It is reallt cool just to walk around and find stuff to do. This game also has a great replay value. Like I said it is fun to start another game and try to be smarted with you money so you don't have to sell your really rare cards.

CHARACTERS (GOOD AND EVIL)

Evil:

Count Bleck: The Destroyer of Worlds With the ability to make vortexes suck up anything and everything. He takes an extremely long time to beat and he is pretty hard. It tooks me 2 tries to beat it. Every other boss took me 1 try.

Nastasia: Count Bleck's assistant. Unfortunately you don't get to beat her. When you get to the final boss battle she disappears. She really isn't evil near the end she actually isn't really for the whole evil thing and she turns good like all the rest of the bosses at the end.

Dimentio: Count Bleck's Magician. He is very powerful (actuall more powerful than CB) and can transport things to his home in Dimension D. He can make seeker missiles of magic and bomb boxes. He can also clone himself three time and send nine missles at you. The only down side is he is extremely easy to hit in boss battles.

Mimi: She is more or a spoiled brat than evil. If she doesn't get what she wants she will turn into this huge moldy spider thing. She can climb on ceilings and hide in bathroom toilets, it's really weird. Although freakish here boss battles have really cool music.

O'Chunks: More of an unsmart brute than anything else. All he does is try to kill with his huge fists and gay dances. You face him about three times in the game. The only thing you really need to watch out for is in the plant place when he verses you. He gets smarter that's it, but he is a little stronger.

Good:

Mario: The main character. He is the only one left at the begining of the game. All the rest of the people have either been trapped in Castle Bleck or become one of Nastasia's slaves. Mario is the one who has to save them. Since he is the only one that can switch from 2-3D he has to save almost everyone. He is the fastest character and he is super fast if you get Dashel.

Peach: She isn't really good for anything in this game. The only thing is, the ability to find and enter Francis's room and her parasol which allows her to float across large gaps.

Bowser: He does the most damage. Although extremely slow he has a really good special (breath fire) and that does alot of damage. Also the fire freezes the enemy in it's spot while doing massive damage.

Luigi: Luigi gets turned into Mr. L/Green Thunder and you have to beat him twice and then you find him in the second to last world (underwhere). He is pretty fast and his special is he jumps really high.

Pixls

Tippi: The Digi-butterfly that follows you like the other pixls do. If you put the wiimote sencor to the screen tippi will reveal things you couldn't see before.

Tiptron: After Tippi dies you can buy this guy for 999 coins from your favorite guy Francis. He has the same abilities as Tippi.

Thoreau: Has the ability to pick up and throw enemies at other enemies. It is very helpful for hitting un-reachable buttons.

Boomer: The Bomb pixl. Blows up after 5 seconds. Good for tree level.

Slim: Makes you virtually invisible to enemies. Makes you invincible except for when you are walking.

Thudley: The ground pound pixl. Allows you to fly to the ground with incredible speed to crush things in your way. Helpful for Water level (3-2).

Carrie: Allows you to fly over spikes and not get hurt. Kind of like Dashell only not as instant. Helpful in Fort Francis.

Fleep: Allows you to flip things to reveal many things like pixls, and keys.

Cudge: The Hammer pixl. Allows you to smash things. Very helpful for spiked enemies.

Dottie: Makes you very small allowing you to access very small spaces. Lets you reveal keys and new rooms. Need in Castle Bleck.

Barry: The Force Field pixl. Makes you spin around blocking any attack from enemies and doing small damage.

Dashell: The dash pixl. Makes you run very fast. Good for getting to places fast.

Piccolo: The healing pixl. This pixl plays a song for character. Each on is different. It can cure poison.

CARD COLLECTION

The card collection is really cool. You get cards for certain levels and you can get them from almost every level. There are cards for every enemy and ally. There are 256 in all. Some are more rare than others. Alot of the rare ones come from treasure hunts. Count Bleck is extremely hard to accuire.

PIT OF 100 TRIALS

The Pit of 100 Trials is very fun and a great way to level up. There are 2 Pits. You have to beat the one in flopside twice to accuire unlimited 3D switch. You have to beat the one in Flipside to unlock Flopside's. Once you finish the first time you have to beat it again and you get 6 extremely rare cards Mario, Dark Mario, Bowser, Dark Bowser, Peach, Dark Peach, Luigi, Dark Luigi. Beware of Shadoo.

MY OPINION

I really like this game (obviously) and I just started a new game today. I like the cards but I had to sell alot of the rare ones to buy items to let me live in the Pit. I still like the game and I really enjoy playing it. I have had it for almost 1 year. I would reccomend this game to any Mario game lovers.

Thanks for reading!
Bleck

I like the way your review was organized, and paid attention to detail. I did have some qualms in your opinion, but none that really affected the quality of your review.

My opinions:
-Peach actually is the easy-street style bonus guru. Parasol keeps her up in the air allowing the player to keep adding bonus points as long as there are enemies to damage.
-She also is the best in defense! By pressign down, the umbrella covers her negating nearly all damage (there might be exceptions in boss battles, but I know in the pit of 100 trials, she was very useful in the more annoying levels when i was low on HP. Use a bomb pixel have an enemy charge at you, duck and detonate. No damage done to you and you killed an enemy easily!)
-You might want to let people know there are spoilers in your review. I already played the game so it didn't affect me, but you gave away some heavy things that go on in the game, and if someone was looking at your review to decide to play the game, they'd be spoiled on the plot line...

Overall, though, a good review!

Umm isn't a review supposed to be a summary of a game not a whole listing of everything in it...? Just pointing that out and no that's not a question... Good review till I got to the Characters part. Because that was like a whole mess of spoilers and then some... I mean the secrets shouldn't be mentioned at all. It should just be a quick summary of what the character would be on the beginning... Really when the review was made you should just have about what a gamer can get out of 10-15mins of playing the game... Unless something in the game play or plot is really horribly near the middle.... Decent Review

I found this game completely void of any of the charm the other paper mario games had for some reason.

It was fun I got unlimiteed 3-D, it sucks when i have to go to the pit of trails like about 3 times! It looks easy but it takes forever, after I got that I didnt know what else to do, it kept me busy though.

My favorite boss I fought was at the end you should know why, the ultimate fusion, though on the easy side. And the last boss has a really easy spot to get...

Smilie V2 Mario good game review

awesome game I loved how they combined 3D&2D. It's like playing SMB3 and Paper Mario, With a lil N64 for good measure. I loved especially the speeches some ofthe characters made. I played the princess peach one over and over to see the different responses lol funny.
