General Info:
To access the wifi mode, choose your file from the main menu. Then touch
the Start. Then choose battle. You then have your choices for Multi player Battling.[/B]

Your Stats Screen:

|--------------------------------------------|

- Name - Your Name - Link Face -
----------------------------------------------
Rank
----------------------------------------------
Battle Points:
----------------------------------------------
Win Percentage:
----------------------------------------------
Wins: Losses: Ties:
--- --- ----
----------------------------------------------

The link face really lets you know who you are battling with, if the person you are playing has a link with a growling face, they either have a TERRIBLE internet connection, or they disconnect a lot. Personally I think it’s the later xD

Battle Points are what you earn from winning, and lose from losing.
Battle points also decide your rank.

Battle Points to rank:

SS - 8250 or more Battle Points

S - 7000 to 8249 Battle Points

A - 5750 to 6999 Battle Points

B - 4500 to 5749 Battle Points

C - 3500 to 4499 Battle Points

D - 2500 to 3499 Battle Points

E - 1750 to 2499 Battle Points

F - 1000 to 1749 Battle Points

G - 500 to 999 Battle Points

H - 499 or less Battle Points

Next is your win percentage, which is decided on of course, your wins and loses.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

List of big plays:

1. No Items - Not using items throughout the game and winning...

2. No Dribble - You win, with out throwing gems outside bases and panels.

3. Limit - Getting link with 20 seconds left in time!

4. Solo - Getting Link with just one phantom!

5. Break - Breaking up 10 or more of the opponent items...

6. Take - Picking up 10 or more of your items....

7. Perfect Master - Completing perfect, and limit big plays at the same time...

8. Quick - Getting link with in the first 20 seconds twice.

9. Miracle - Winning with just one point!

10. Get Everything - Beating a noob, getting all force gyms to your base...

11. Guardian - Win with out letting opponent getting any points...

12. Perfect - Complete both get everything and guardian big plays together...

13. No Miss - Winning with out being caught by another phantom...

14. Guard King - Get link with a phantom all 3 turns....

15. Master - Complete no miss, and guard king at the same time...

16. Battle Master - Complete limit and master big plays at the same time....
-----------------
I had some help from various people for this xD
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some Facts:

You battle people that are most like you. The same with disconnecting, if you disconnect, and do more and more, its more likely that you will be connected with some one who does also...

Its random for who is which color, and who starts of the level as link...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Basic Idea:

Link - When your link, the goal is to get as many, if not all Tri Force gems to your base. Your base is which ever color you are. The gems vary in size, and how much they are worth. You have to accomplish this while trying to avoid the phantoms, which are controlled by your opponent.

Phantoms - This is where strategy comes in, you really have to guess, and make a plan to put the phantoms where link would least expect it. You can move them around with your stylus. You just want to tag link, and then you switch sides....

Once each person has had 3 turns as link, and 3 turns as the phantom, the game is over...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lastly Some tips for online play....

Ok you got the tri force gems to your base now what?
If you have a lot, its recommended that you throw them outside your base into a pile, then its easy to just put a phantom there to guard them, so no stealing will occur lol....

WTH is with this huge gem?
Don’t walk with it. Try throwing it. You can cover a lot more ground that way.

How the heck do you know where the phantoms are?
When you pick up a gem, it shows the positions of the phantoms, use this to formulate a strategy to get around them...

Power Ups?
If your near the power ups, its suggested you get them. These can range to anything from an extra 30 seconds, to extra speed.

Darn getting to link right in the beginning!
You can start drawing where the phantoms go before the countdown is over, giving you a slight advantage....

The game keeps screwing up, it wont move where I want it!
I would try and make sure your ds is calibrated. This can be done in the settings....
-----------------------
Link:

-First and probably most important tip is dribbling. It is probably one of the most important skills to do correctly while link. Dribbling is when you pick up a large gem and throw it instead of running with it. This saves a ton, let me repeat, TON of time. Unless you have strength up, always dribble.

-Multi task, don't concentrate on getting one gem to where you want it. Set up several gems so you can move one then quickly go move another while the phantoms are occupied chasing after you.

-Don't do what is expected first and don't always go for the closest gem first. Try to get into you opponent's base and mess around with his gems to make his life harder first. Then you can get back and put your gems into position to score next round and protect them with you phantoms.

-Group gems but not too close. It's a good idea to group gems as its easier to guard. But don't put all of your gems close together. This spawns shuffles which is often why I lose, like 60% of the time. Try to make two small piles and sacrifice the extra phantom to guard. It's worth it.

-Don't always go for power-ups. I know I often use them as a trap to catch link. Only get them if your sure you can get to them.

-Use small gems as a spy. If the level allows it (i.e. A level with a lot of gems and one point won't make the difference of the game.) use a small gem of yours to carry around to see phantom positions. It doesn't slow you don't hardly, if at all, and it lets you have valuable info.

Phantoms:

-Always use phantoms to guard gems, at least one more likely two. Link is faster so don't go chasing after him with all phantoms or you may find your self down a few points.

-Send one phantom, if you can, to break items. Instead of sending a phantom chasing link around, have him sit in the middle of a stage and wait for power-ups to come, then take them out and possibly get link too when he comes for them.

-Draw lines good. Seems simple yet it is very important. Poorly drawn lines can be the downfall of a winning game.

-Find choke points. If you only need one to guard, use one or two to put at valuable choke points. This can force link to take a long route and waste a lot of time.

-Know routes your opponent takes in the first round. If he uses the same path, put a phantom at the end of it and see if you can catch him.

-I will restate this so it's burned into your head, NEVER LEAVE GEMS UNGUARDED, don't think, "well I have a phantom close." It's not enough. Always keep one on the gems.

I hope this helps some of you get better ranks and win more games.

This is awesome stuff by Rompage!
BTW he has won a tournament so i would definatly read, and re read this part of the guide.
Props to Rompage!

More Q & A

(Thank you Max)

Q: When I steal my opponent's gem, it stays their color and they keep the point value until I put it in my area! Is there any way to make it normal colored again?

A: Sure there is! If you steal a gem, just throw it into a normal Safe Zone and it will return to normal color, and their points will be deducted.

Q: The other team has taken the two largest gems, and are guarding them securily. If I don't take one, I loose!

A: If there is no chance in snatching gems, you have a chance at Triforce Swap, which moves all of the gems around. It is an item, and it appears as a colored circle with a Triforce in it.

Q: I have the in grasp! I'm guarding my gems and their is no way to loose unless the other team gets a Triforce Swap. Is there any way to make sure that they do not get that item?

A: If the other side has no points, and you have tons, a Swap is likely to appear. Make sure that you even out the score so this does not happen.

This is a great guide for new players of PH Wi-fi. Covers most of the basics to get to started and really explains everything very well. I also like how you added some tips like drawing the line for your Phantoms before the countdown and throwing the gems. These can really help out in a tight battle. Great job. This deserves a sticky!
