Speaking for all Mario Kart games I've played: No. I only reverse in Time Trial mode when I'm trying to figure out shortcuts and such.

But I don't see the point in reversing, either. It just kills your speed like Kid Ninja stated, and lets the pack pull ahead of you. Only time I'd reverse in competitive play is if I crashed.

thats where sandbagging comes in when you realize that reversing isnt working for you or you dont like this course

Sandbagging...? That's seriously the first time I ever heard that term (I just got done looking it up). So from what I've read, you intentionally do bad so you can get a good item to help you get way up front. What is the point of that if you can just race with your skill? But I guess it's just for if you hate the course, like you said.

I guess reversing could come in handy for that. But I would never do that cause I like to actually race. In my opinion sandbagging just sounds like a nooby way to play the game; to compensate for your lacking of skill.

as i said, i have done it only once and got a bullet bill, to me it just a nice way to fool your opponents when they see you falling back and next you out speed them with the bullet bill or knock them out with the star
