It looks like Activision officially let the cat out of the bag for the newly announced game Guitar Hero Greatest Hits Today they released a brand new trailer (shown above, its actually really boring.), a partial Guitar Hero Greatest Hits Song List, and the Guitar Hero Greatest Hits Release Date. All this happened during an interview with Paul Gadbois.
  • “Them Bones” - Alice in Chains
  • “Killer Queen” - Queen
  • “Nothin’ But A Good Time” - Poison
  • “Killing in the Name” - Rage Against The Machine
  • “I Wanna Rock” - Twisted Sister
  • “I Love Rock N Roll” - Joan Jett and The Blackhearts
  • “Barracuda” - Heart
  • “Through the Fire and Flames!” - Dragonforce
And of course the most famous GH song of all
  • “Through the Fire and Flames” - Dragonforce
Expect the game to be very similar to Guitar Hero World Tour as far as features and gameplay.
Only difference is this contains songs from games that didn’t include drums or mic, and brings them back up to date. Reworking of the tracks was necessary as the first game didn’t have hammer-ons or pull-offs. Old fans of the game should get a new refreshing play. There will be 48 songs in total for you to enjoy. Eventually the entire previous GH song catalog will be available through DLC. SWEET!
It will be released for the 360, PS3, PS2, and Wii and arrive in June of 2009.
On Xbox 360 and PS3 it will have a suggested retail price of $59.99, while Wii and PS2 will be $49.99 and $39.99 respectively.
Stay Tuned for More Details!

Kinda seems like a rip off. I don't see why it couldn't be DLC in the first place.

Wow, only 48 songs, what a rip-off. They had better announce some bonus songs or something, or I'll pass this game up.

I wanted songs from Aerosmith to show up, something from the DS games, and a boss battle or something. I was expecting at least 55 songs to be there.

Hmm, I like the games better cuz they have extra stuff.

I'm actually hoping that there's a solo challenge mode in Greatest Hits, where u play solos in montages or something. (That way, it's easier to make montage videos)

I think I'll wait for this game to drop to $40

Ditto. Maybe they might do something special with it, but not going to get it. (most likely)

They will most likely have GH rewind packs for Greatest Hits. If not then they really should.

I just hope YYZ and Jordan makes it to the setlist.

It would be a pretty safe bet to say that Jordan will make it.

inevitable. It's sweet they put out one version rather then re-releasing all the original versions onto the wi, which they very well coud have (and people woulda paid for). All i can say is that i won't buy it if "Six" or "Thunderhorse" don't make the cut...

I'm gonna get it. If it means all songs on one disc - Awesome. And they are updated. Does this mean all past songs will have drums, bass, and vocals? If so, this sounds like a good buy
