NEVER.
Metroid, Mario, and Legend of Zelda, have been around since the NES. And they have been the star in EVERY game. WHY on Gods green earth, would they even THINK about taking the star of the show out?
Legend of Zelda without link would cause so much of a loss in sales, I don't want to even think about it. Thankfully, that will never happen. What I WOULD like to see, Co-op action.. now that would be nice..

Just flip the story and make it based on Dark Samus

It probably wouldn't happen because Link has always been the staple character of the series. Link is the Triforce of Courage in any timeline you look at so he'd need to be in there somewhere. If you had it based around Zelda I guess they could make it work but will they? No.

no. who dug this up? but it would be cool if you could travel from game to game. like majoras mask. oot. and windwaker as various characters. gorons, dekus, zoras. and help link in awesome co-op action.

I don't think a Legend of Zelda game without Link would sell very well. I could see Nintendo trying to make a storyline with Zelda, but I don't think it'll work out that well. I always wondered why Link's name wasn't mentioned in the series name of the Legend of Zelda.
