No More Heroes Designer Wants Travis Touchdown In Next Smash Bros. - no more heroes - Kotaku

The last Smash Bros. game, like the one before that, was a smorgasboard of characters. There weren't just Nintendo developed characters, but the likes of Sonic and Snake also made an appearance.

No More Heroes designer Goichi Suda is already making off-handed remarks about his desire to see NMH hero Travis Touchdown in the next Smash Bros.. Says Suda:

I love him (Travis), and I want him to be a huge star. That's why I'm working very hard to make this game as interesting as possible. Maybe in the future, we can see him fighting alongside Link in the next Smash Bros. [laughs] That would be great.

I'm not a big fan of NMH, but I was of killer7. That game was just creepy, and very falsely advertised as a rail-adventure game.

But if Suda51's NMH series is getting enough attention as to be in a Smash Bros game, maybe his lesser appreciated games will get some more attention.

I don't know if they will make Travis a playable char in the next SSB. The game already has quite a few reccuring sword-using players and Travis really isnt all that different. Also, he's also only been in one big game so far even tho it did do quite well. I'm not sure if Travis will be playable but he would make a pretty cool assist trophy imo...

Its true, you have so many better options ... but I do like the idea of him as an assist trophy

While I think Suda would like Travis to be in the next smash bros, the interview from Nintendo power that this is from made it seem like he was joking. He also said that he included the cat minigame back in to No More Heroes 2 inorder to compete with Ubisoft's Petz...

I don't know, cause he's a funny guy? You have to read the entire interview, it definitely loses it's impact when you take it out of context like this.
