Yes this would be cool but I dont think it would really considered cause it would be tough to decide on enemy placement and stuff. I say leave the level creation to the game developers.
Though this idea maybe hard to introduce to the game, it would make the game co-op abilities mature more.

YES!
but it would take away from the GAME itself... make it sorta like the Stage Editor in SSBB--but that was VERY limited... have some "edit level" features--like take a pre-existing level, and add things to it... but don't make it TOO much

I would like a stage creator after you have beaten the game. It should be set up like ssbb's creator, except a little less limited.

OMG, I can't believe iIm saying this, but this may actually turn out to be reality! =O
A Mario game that lets you create your own levels - rather like Sony's LittleBigPlanet - could become a reality after Miyamoto spoke of his interest in user-created content and level creation. "This is an area that I have a lot of interest in, and I think that the side-scrolling Mario games in particular are well suited to that idea," said Miyamoto. "Of course the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series is one that's made in North America by NST, but it's one that I've been involved in and from early on. We did have a lot of discussions about how to enable that kind of level creation in that series. "And I think those types of interactive experiences are going to continue to broaden and we'll see a lot more user-generated content going forward. I've always had an interest in those kinds of creative tools, so I will definitely be open to ideas like that in the future," he told Joystiq. Sauce

I'm reviving this because of the nearing release date. And the fact that its a good thread.
Yes! I would love to make my own levels. But the Mario vs. Donkey Kong: March of the Mini's was a different type of level making. I don't know it this would be as good.. I think they might just have you make dragged on levels with no real deep level of playing. Some objects just wouldnt work for players to use, and putting things like lava, and water, and the ton's of different kinds of enemies.. I think it would just be too difficult. Hopefully they will however. |

I would like to see a feature like this, I imagine it would be quite fun to be able to make your own level and send it to friends to play or play yourself. It would be good if you got a daily download off of Nintendo's Wifi giving you a new map (kinda like SSBB and the photos) that someone has made that you could complete.
If they did do this though I would hope that instead of using the same form of Stage Editor that SSBB used (as it was quite limited in my opinion) and to use one that Mario vs Donkey Kong 2: March of Minis used. The stage editor from this game allowed you to use any feature that you could find in the game which was cool. If they didn't though it wouldn't really bother me, I'll just play the game and get on with it. |
