Hey, just thought I'd solve the matter of which digimon ds game is best by letting everyone vote on their favorite version. Doesn't matter who's opinion is best, so long as one game rises from the rest. Here is the list of the ds versions:

  • Digimon world ds

  • Digimon world dawn

  • Digimon world dusk

  • Digimon world championship

Now it's up to everyone to choose their best pick.

I would go with the first option Digimon World.

I have played 1-3 on the first Playstaion and this one at my friends house.

I heard Dusk and Dawn versions are good to but World champ I do not know anything about.

Thanks for that Sparksman. For anyone who is interested, here's a few descriptions on each listed game to help with your votes:-

Quote:
Digimon World DS is a role-playing game and the first Digimon game for the Nintendo DS. The game bears a resemblance to Digimon World 3, features 300 Digimon, and uses Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to match Digimon.

Sometime in the 21st century, rapid developments in technology have spawned life forms—Digital Monsters—in the Digital World. This sparks rumors of a cover-up by the DATS organization under the National Public Safety Commission. To substantiate the rumors, the protagonist sneaks into the school computer room, where the protagonist is transported to the Digital World.

In the game, the player assumes the role of a Digimon tamer and embarks on a journey to discover, tame, raise, train and command more than 230 unique Digimon. Unlike most of the character collection-driven games in the series, Digimon World DS's gameplay continues after the character collection is completed. The player can build Digi-Farms to raise, evolve and communicate with the Digimon. Using Wi-Fi and local DS wireless connection, players can interact by exchanging Digimon, engaging in battles, and pooling resources to create rare types of Digimon.

As he or she raises and befriends new Digimon and rises in the rank, they face all sorts of adventures. The player meets great friends, and makes some powerful enemies. Most of the times, any crisis that he or she deals with has been orchestrated by an evil entity calling itself Unknown-D.

Digimon World DS marks the first appearance of several Digimon, some that later appear in Digimon Savers, like Gawappamon, the evolution of Kamemon. Chronomon Destroyer Mode/Chronomon Holy Mode, the game's final boss, also makes his first appearance. The game introduces two special Digimon, DotAgumon and DotFalcomon, both of which have the appearance of sprites which look like their V-Pet counterparts. These Digimon seem to have no special qualities except for useful traits, and being able to be degenerated back into their In-Training forms, then evolve into more powerful Digimon.
Quote:
Digimon World Dawn and Digimon World Dusk are two separate Digimon video games for the Nintendo DS handheld game console. The two different games appear to have separate storylines and other slight differences.

A huge earthquake (caused by a mysterious virus) has stricken the SunShine and DarkMoon districts, damaging the access points to the Digital World and causing many Digimon to mysteriously degenerate to Digi-Eggs. In Dawn, rumors have spread that the Night Crow Team, from DarkMoon City, was responsible for the incident. However, a conflicting report surfaces in Dusk claiming the responsibility falls on the Light Fang team from the SunShine district. With both sides accusing the other, players will take the role of an opposing tamer to investigate and uncover the truth behind the dangerous tremors.

Note that although the games will share a main story, it is known that the plot will differ between Dawn and Dusk to some degree. Players will also explore different areas depending on the version of the game they play. You may choose to play as a boy or girl, though the boy and girl look slightly different depending on the version you play. The two games will feature parallel storylines with a main team in each that opposes the other - Light Fang in Dawn and Night Crow in Dusk - though the two teams work together towards a common cause.

As with Digimon World DS, Dawn and Dusk introduce several new Digimon to the franchise. Chicchimon is a new Bird based Fresh/In-Training Digimon. Grimmon, ChaosGrimmon, and ExoGrimmon also make their first appearances in the game as the main enemy. Grimmon has a connection with the Chrono Core, the villain of the previous game.

Dawn and Dusk also complete the Digivolution lines of the Digimon from Digimon Data Squad, with the likes of ShineGreymon and MirageGaogamon, after having been left out in the first game. DotShineGreymon and DotMirageGaogamon make their debut, with DotAgumon and DotFalcomon returning from the first game.

Digimon World Dawn and Digimon World Dusk also allow DNA digivolution, in which two Digimon of numerically close levels can be combined. Usually, this only provides stat bonuses to the Digimon chosen as the basis of the digivolution, but certain combinations of Digimon, if they have the right stats, will DNA digivolve into completely different Digimon.

There are a total of 397 obtainable Digimon in Digimon World: Dawn and Digimon World: Dusk.

Digimon World Championship is a breed-and-battle SLG game for the Nintendo DS handheld game console. Players begin the game with an egg which will hatch into a Botamon. The Player will then have to enter tournaments, get funds, hunt more than 200 Digimon and become the Digimon Champion. There is no other plot to the game.

Dracomon, the 10th-anniversary Digimon made an appearance in this game.

The gameplay in Digimon World Championship gives an element of freedom to be whatever tamer you wish to be. The game includes a feature that allows the player's team to face a random tamer over Nintendo Wi-Fi connection and the DS wireless comunications.

Several Digimon made their debut in this game, including Petitmon, Babydmon, Dracomon, Coredramon, Wingdramon, Groundramon, Slayerdramon and Breakdramon.

There are a total of 216 obtainable Digimon in Digimon World Championship
Which one would you pick?

Um Stratos, try and set up a pole on this. The votes can be counted for people who have played it and recommend it.

It might be a lot easier as well.

my favorite was dusk because i prefer dianamon over apollomon.
pros:
neat breeding system
covered almost all digimon from third season down
cool battle music (unlike pokemon)
variety of evolution methods allow for unique teams.

cons:
waaay to many random encounters
maps get annoying
you have to use gaburimon to get kazuhimon *fail* lol

i agree it gets dull at times but i still like it
