Why no Custom Stages in Online?

Does anyone else hate that you can't play custom stages in the Online Multiplayer???

It just bugs me, especially when it's someone I know and I am certain they have my stage, and I'd like to have the experience of playing them in my stage without having to drive the 800+ miles to go play them. It just kind of bugs me. Seems like it shouldn't be that hard as long as each player has the stage on their Wii.

Well I'm guessing that it might take a while to transfer your custom stage to everybody in the room playing. I don't know, I'm just guessing, but it is disappointing that you can't play custom stages online.

It would be nice if you and your friend had the same custom stage, you could do it... Or maybe making the daily Smash Service stage playable online.

1) It'd take long.
2) The other players might not know what it looks like. For all they know, it could be a whole blank.

Yeah... Nintendo should have given their "new creations" a little bit more functionality....

Unfraggable made a good point about the "submit" custom stage though... anyway.. they should have made it that you could play on customs stages you ALL have... It might be a hassle to distribute stages beforehand... but at least it doesn't interfere when you're having the actual game...

Well... This is why... Some people make traps on the stage so you don't know where they are and also it is a stage where you have no experience with... And they know where all the traps are and where to go etc.... Thats why probably...

mind you i like the idea of people who have eachothers stage able to use it.

Ok Conditions for being able to play the stages...
1) Friend is on your Wii
2) On Brawl List
3) Custom Stage sent to them.
4) Play Friend that has the stage.
5) The Custom Stages option goes away when the person is A) not on your wii FC or B) Doesn't have the Custom Stage...

Well isn't that the point of all the stages. No one knew what the Halberd stage was gonna do. If I took you to a random stage you would have to explore. Even if that person has an upper advantage...This should make it all more sweeter...

i sent tons, my friends sent me tons, we each have stages from eachother...

Yea maybe not over general Wi Fi cause there are people in the world that..... lets just say have "unique interests". But they should allow you to do it with Friends w/ Friend Codes cause I'm sure we can trust each other with our creations..... right??

As far as those people with the um.... less than desirable stage designs, I thought that that was the entire idea behind the friend codes. I agree with the list of five things madbz9. I mean seriously, why can't there just be a part of the game that recognizes when two friends have the same custom stage, and then a separate option (from Brawl, melee stages) can pop up as "Shared Stages"???? that'd be great.

but oh well, hindsight is indeed 20/20
