Mario Kart Wii Racing League II

With Stephen's unfortunate resignation, I have taken over control of the MKWRL. Since the old MKWRL was quite old, I thought it would be convenient if we made a whole new thread, with updated hosters, etc.

This is all copied from the original MKWRL..with some updates. The highlights in bold and underlined indicate edits/changes.

then the Mario Kart Wii Racing League II (MKWRL II) is for you!


Brief Overview

The MKWRL is a place where you are guaranteed a matchup against some of the finest racers that NintendoPals has to offer. Complete with a new point system to track your progress throughout the month, MKWRL offers you what no other racing competition can. This is not intended to replace tournaments, moreover the MKWRL aims to offer a different and engaging experience to help all competitors hone their skills and participate in larger scale competition.

How does MKWRL II work?

There will be two races per week. These races are set ahead of time and the times and dates will fluctuate as little as possible. Two individuals have been chosen ahead of time to host the races. You may race in only four races within a month. With the ranking system you will be able to see where you stand versus racers from all over the world. At the end of the month a 12-man race will be scheduled for the top 12 racers, as ranked at the end of each month (at a majority consensus decided upon time) to crown the fastest racer for that month! Also, we have a new variety of themes every single month, so the MKWRL is a constant changing league in which you will have to adapt to many different conditions!

Reporting races and points

There is no need to report your race. The person who is hosting is in charge of taking a snapshot of the final screen when the 4 races are finished. Then your place is assigned a point value (depends slightly on how many racers are involved) and then a simple equation is applied to your combined point total from previous races to come up with a composite score. However, if you are able, photos/videos are greatly appreciated to help in score tallying.

How to sign up for MKWRL II:

It is really quite easy, simply state in the thread which race you would like to put yourself in. Your code will be added by the hosting individual. Be warned, there is no reserving a spot. Come race day, it is first come first serve.

Before each race, the room will open 10 minutes before the scheduled time to race and close at the specified time. If you do not make the scheduled race time, you will not be allowed to race in that race. However, do not fret, as you can attempt to make the next race.

FC: Make sure you add the FC of whomever is hosting the race you would like to participate in, and only their code is necessary!

At least 4 racers must be present for a Race to count for MKWRL.
At least 6 racers must be present for the Finals to count (otherwise, they must be rescheduled)

Dont's

Don't spam this thread.
This will simply make it more difficult for those who are hosting the races to make sure they have added everyone correctly and increases the chances for someone to be left off the list.

Don't complain about not making a scheduled race time.
These times are practically set in stone, you know about them in advance, so, if you want to make the time to race, make the time!

Do's

Do post your Racing name and Friend Code when requesting to participate in upcoming races.

Do let us know if you are unable to join a room because it is full.
We will need information like this to know if it is necessary to add more races during the week.

Do have fun

Do make any helpful suggestions you may have regarding the format.
Hey, this is not a perfect setup and I know that. I am looking for any suggestions that you think might help this run most efficiently.

Race Rules

1. You may choose any combination of Character/Bike/Kart that you please.

2. Use items!

3. Choose Random Stages. While you will not be disqualified for choosing a stage, you will be forever frowned upon

4. The first four courses (1 grand prix) count towards the league, however, feel free to stay on and race as long as the host is willing to keep the room open!

115.5 pts is the maximum points a person can receive in a single month.
