You miss the point entirely... while I do understand yours...

If there is no weight to the point system, then you could put whoever you want, wherever you please...

which would make there be no point to having the 6 different spots...
Don't worry, it will not be so heavily weighted that winning #1 guarantees a win... believe me, I will experiment with different distributions of points to find the best fit.

And, if it doesn't work.
We'll do something different next time...
Maybe some time in March or something =)

I think you have missed my point, take the rider cup for instance

the final day is 1 v 1

Tiger woods (didn't compete this year but lets imagine) is undoubtably the best player and yet if he wins his 1 v 1 against whoever it is worth 1 point not 15 because he is tier 1

because he is part of a TEAM his performance is no more important than any other team member

ALL tiers should be equal regardless of whether it allows something sinister to go on if someone bottom loads ther team they can't win higher tiers so they will fail anyway

but if a different clan wins each tier then whoever wins tier 1 wins? thats not team work is it? we're back to individuals again

I like your style.

Don't DQ me for inactivity though, I've already said that weekends are my (shaky) best bet.

Nope, I understood that... and no.. the points (like I said) won't be so heavily imbalanced (it's really going to be closer than you think)...

meh, don't worry.. it's gonna be fine.

It's not really about wolf as such, its about winning any tier and not getting the full reward

assuming wolf does win tier 1 (seems likely though) and you win tier 4 or 5 why does wolf get more points? did he race harder? train longer? kiss the points monitor? give the teacher an apple?

what makes tier 1 2 3 4 or 5 more important than the guys in tier 6? and if it really is that close in points separation why award more or less points? just give 'em out the same for every tier

it's not about trying to win, its about giving all the guys that race an equal chance to contribute

If we wanted to win we would have our best 6 racers in but have not even included ninman (whom I talk to a lot on MSN) but we have included the guys that have shown an interest and want to race for the lolz

BUT they all (me included) want to make a valid contribution and that is possible only by being able to contribute the maximum in the first place

....

let's be honest.
In a team event, not everyone can give the same contribution.
In Football (or soccer.. or football or any sport)
Some people are just better and earn more points towards the goal.
Sure, everyone trains hard and contributes.

But let's be honest, Lebron James is going to score the most points for the cavs, pretty much 90%+ of the time...

Anyway... only in the land of hearts, pink bunnies and plush toys does everyone contribute the same amount in ANYTHING!!...

xp

i see where BIM is going but to make it fair we need to make all the Teirs to be of equal value.. if you win that teir you get 1 point towards your clan.

6 Points
6 clans
1 Trophy.

and in the land of FAIR competitions :P not that everyone will contribute but they could be given the chance

but I suppose this helps weigh things in YOUR Clans favour, perhaps a vote is in order? if everyone agrees that tier 1 should earn more then I will go along with it with no more mention of the fact that this is to give your clan an edge (which we all know it is)

i think its time for stephen to put the rules out in the open and put us at easy about the whole point system thing..I too am still waiting for this score mayhem to be revealed.

edit: wow 4 posts while i wrote this?? lol

I must advice that stephen even though hes hosting this its best if we ALL agree on this b4 we move on..

I will hold my vote for now, as soon as stephen explains by example the point system I will cast my vote. fair? yes I thought so.
