Good Bye.

Nintendo delivers three downloadable Pokemon titles in Japan.
Last month, we reported that Nintendo would be bringing the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series to WiiWare. The information was a bit shaky, so we covered the story in question marks and asked that you treat it as a rumor. Well, you can now ignore the question marks! Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is indeed coming to WiiWare through a multi-SKU release that hits Japan in less than a month! Nintendo opened an official Japanese site today, offering first screens and video footage for the game (the video button is under Pichu). On the DS, the Mystery Dungeon series put you in direct control of a group of Pokemon and had you explore randomly generated dungeons, facing off against rival Pokemon and using items to advance. The games also featured some unique Wi-Fi connectivity which allowed players to save their friends from peril. The Wii entries in the series appear to mimic their DS counterparts closely, but with one major exception. Everything is now in full 3D. This includes the dungeons and all the Pokemon creatures. Nintendo promises something that resembles a picture book. The Wii versions also add a number of gameplay changes. You can now have your Pokemon climb atop one-another to form a tower. In this form, the Pokemon attack in groups, all in a single move. Screenshots show two towers facing off against one-another in what looks like an intense fight. WiiConnect24 is also being put to use here. Even when your Wii is turned off, you'll get missions sent out to you. You may even get some special pieces of information describing the whereabouts of certain Pokemon. In Japan, the WiiWare version of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon will arrive as three separate releases: Flame, Storm, and Light. These offer different starting points and initial Pokemon choices. Flame starts you in Pokemon Village and gives you access to flame-based Pokemon. Storm starts you in Pokemon Beach, and offers up an initial selection of water Pokemon. Light starts you in Pokemon Garden and gives you access to electric Pokemon. All three will hit Japan on August 4, priced at 1,200 WiiPoints each. Nintendo hasn't announced a release outside of Japan, but given the popularity of Pokemon just about everywhere, you can probably expect your choice of downloads at some point. |

Sounds amazing. I would buy this game. I hope that there will be some sort of wifi including in the game. And more than just getting missions, I would like for there to be co-op with friends. I dont know if a wiiware game would have that but I can hope.

What tricourage said.
If the only thing different is the graphics, then I may not even bother thinking about getting this. The tower attack got me, though. ![]() Hopefully the dungeons have more to it in these games. They get rather repetitive after playing it for a long time. I'll keep my eye on these. :P

And I thought it wouldn't be origami...
![]() There's so little emotion and action that you can put into those, since they don't move their arms or anything, it certainly does fit the series but I was expecting something else. (but then it would be a Wii game and not Wiiware) The tower attack seems like fail to me atm, it could have been better, but I'll just have to wait and see until it gets over here. |

This sounds pretty cool. But what do they mean by picture book style? Does that mean the weird style they used in Pokemon Ranch? I hope not...
But the idea of the game, and the gameplay sounds pretty cool. Hopefully there will be a decent release date for America. I'll be looking forward to this.
