Speaking to Official Nintendo Magazine, Nintendo's Kensuke Tanabe who oversaw the Metroid Prime Series for Nintendo has hinted that there may be more to come from the series, despite Metroid Prime 3 being the last of the trilogy.

"We are always planning to make new games in the Metroid Prime series. Depending on the timing and the situation, we cannot deny the possibility of realising it on DS or DSi."

This could explain the "secret" ending in Metroid Prime 3 then, and another DS Metroid is very welcome. Metroid Prime: Hunters was excellent, and had online too, unlike the Gamecube and Wii counterparts.

I'm still waiting for something on Metroid Dread. There was even a little teaser in Corruption that said the project was nearing completion.

But, I always prefer big games on the console rather than the handheld, and another First person Metroid game would be awesome.

awesome. im a big fan of metroid games, and my DS is lonely without any metroid games.

That teaser in Corruption was just a inside-joke by Retro Studios to tease the fans. I agree, FP Metroid would be amazing!

Thay need to make a new one for wii
but aren't thay already on that?

A new Metroid on the DS would be awesomesauce. Prime Hunters was amazing and had an enormous following of players from the GCN games. There's no doubt in my mind if the next Metroid came to the DS everyone would immediately flock to their DS again. I also felt more comfortable playing Metroid on my DS than I did on the Wii and Gamecube. The DS just felt really natural to me and the use of the stylus gameplay made everything much more easier, in my opinion.

That's being developed by a completely different studio and will be more based on the originals.

But as has been pointed out, there are numerous hints in Metroid Prime 3 that have fuled rumours for a while, so yea. :P

Id prefer something on the DS. The classic metroid kinda ended and went FPS/shooter style on us. Metroid has kinda lost that classic-ness that I always loved from it. I want NINTENDO to brings us the classic look of Metroid to the ds.

Something classic looking like Zero Mission.
