No, you didn't misread that title, and yes, if you look out of the window right now, you may spot one or two feathered pigs making their way by. If you haven't yet completely given up on Sega and Sonic, and even if you have, but loved the fantastic original games, you can now cry tears of pure joy as Sega has finally given the true fans what they have been crying out for for over 10 years, as on the dawn of the 10th anniversary of the Sega Dreamcast they have officially unveiled a new 2D and HD Sonic coming to consoles in 2010!It's unconfirmed what consoles it will be coming to, but we can still hope, and if you've been waiting as long as I have for this, i'm sure you wouldn't mind buying another console for this alone...
There's also an official site for "project needlemouse", revealing some old-school looking Green Hill Zone art: Needlemouse

![]() And yayz! So I guess SEGA's finally place their focus on the old-school style of Sonic Games. Can't say that it's a bad decision, I loved the older hedgehog games. But it does lead me to wonder what they plan on doing with the 3D iterations. I actually like alot of the newer Sonic games. Either way, I can't wait to see what this game has in store for us. |

I really hope this works out. I'm glad that Sega's willing to try going back to their roots more and hopefully this will be like their older games.
And now that I think about it, they could develop these as WiiWare/PSN/XBLA games if they really wanted to.

You got to remember, Sonic is one of the oldest gaming icons still around and he still has a huge fanbase, Sega can really do anything with Sonic. |

Oh, I know that. It's just an alternate that they could do. Hell, I'd rather see it on WW/XBLA/PSN than on disc. But you're absolutely right that they're probably going to make the diehard fans shell out $50/$60 for it and make a killing doing so.

the one thing that rang true in that trailer was the old-school SEGA sound, so it seems that they even dug up there old SFX from the Genesis games to use in this, and if thats the case then we will see some original 2d sonic levels and sound tracks too boot. But i wonder if there going to be using the ole 16 bit or a completely revamped version of sonic and will they be using Dr. Robotnik or continue to use Dr.Eggman.
