Actually I'd say the average game has about 10 these days (on average).

I really hope they don't do what games like DMC4 do and have you refight the same bosses throughout the game three times.

For many fans of the original No More Heroes, one of the biggest complaints was that the open world had some problems. Well, Suda 51 has not only heard your complaints, but plans on putting a priority on it. The following is how Suda plans on fixing the open world for No More Heroes 2.

Quote: “The city will be more compact and feel more denser. There will be more stuff to do, and you’ll be able to access more activities and minigames from the very beginning. We want to mix it up a little bit more. For example, after you defeat a boss, you might jump into another boss fight immediately. we want to break up the tempo so it’s not always the same thing like it was in the first No More Heroes.

Also, we’re really adjusting the amount of money that you have to earn before you can proceed to the next fight. We don’t want it to be as much of a pain as it was in the first game.”


These corrections make for a better open world experience for No More Heroes 2. These are just some of the features being tweaked for the sequel and we have to admit that the open world from the original was probably one of the biggest gripes for us. Hearing this we can’t wait for this title to come out. Unfortunately we’ll have to wait till next year.

There have also been some hints dropped elsewhere that Shinobu won't be the only new playable character. In case it wasn't obvious before at who it's going to be...

Suda51 has already shared that there will be characters other than Travis to play as in No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle. However, now there are some rumors that EDGE has information of an additional character that had not been previously revealed. Head past the break to see the blurb from the magazine.

Quote: “It’s still too early to tell you everything about the game,” says Suda, “but firstly we’re going to have more than one playable character - as the scenario unfolds, Shinobu and Henry will become playable and will bring their own styles and cool factor”.

We already heard about Shinobu a few weeks ago from Nintendo Power, but Henry is news to me. There’s no scans of EDGE that prove this rumor is true, but I have a strong feeling that it isn’t just a rumor
