This looks like some rumor to me. When the wii was first announced they went through several prototypes and it was in the magazines years before the actual release. Before it was called the Wii Evolution. I'm not expecting much because I really don't think they'll make a Wii 2. Mainly because the release is actually so close yet there has been almost no major news so far.

Definitely doesn't have blu-ray support. Blu-Ray is owned by Sony, Sony owns Playstation. Why would Sony help a competitor? A new console is possible, but it'll probably have a different name. Nintendo isn't really known to keep the same name for their consoles.

Wii 2 would most likely just be a placekeeper until they come up with a new name. Like Dolphin for the GameCube or Revolution for the Wii. This will most likely apply to the actual "Wii 2" console, even if nothing official's been released, and this is all riding on speculation.
Also, it's alright to be a little skeptic (read: not believe this at all), because of how fake-tastic that image is looking. Nice to wonder, though. Can definitely see something similar to this happen. And, another thing, to get things clear: Microsoft, at least in some point in time, had plans to implement Blu-Ray to their 360 consoles. Even one of the higher-ups said that there was a chance that Blu-Ray addons may be possible (that is, until the company as a whole debunked it and said no). It would not be entirely uncommon for the next Nintendo console, whatever it may be called, to have Blu-Ray support. Sony not allowing this to happen somehow would be the equivalent of Microsoft restricting PSP connection through USB to Windows because Sony is "competition."

Supporting Companies Blu-ray Disc Association A bunch of people have patents. Anyways, I'd sell my current Wii for this one, but Pirating won't stop. New hacks will be found and a USB Loader will be coded. All piracy will resume again. Unless they do not include the USB hub in the back, then you can just load crap off the SD card

Nicely put Yankee... xD
Yeah, I also think this is fake. It way to convienent that after Miyomoto says "upgrade" (sorta) that this gets leaked... I do hope that it is true. It would help the Wii even more. Even if they don't fully use wii motion plus.. >_< |

And yankee, from what I know, Sony does own a share of blu-ray. They're not the only company in association with it. Those links show nothing? |

Frankly I think this "leak" is a bunch of bull. But it would be interesting since Pioneer has made a 16 layer blue-ray disc. That's 400 GBs of storage and I would hope if Nintendo does do something like this they will continue with the backwards compatibility and not do like Sony and do away with it. Which I think was really stupid of them. Pioneer Develops World's First 16-Layer Optical Disc

You know, the Wii has 480p... But anyway, this is not likely real like many have stated before. More like the next real console version for Nintendo will have 1080p or whatever might be standard by then (3D perhaps?). Don't think it'll be called the "Wii 2" though, unless they want to keep it in the blue oceans minds.
