Looks pretty fake to me, the release date and the name sound a bit off to me. I don't know...

If this is true, though, then I better trade in my Wii and jump on the bandwagon. ;o

The release date isn't off though, the gamecube was only out for around 5 years before wii came out, and since they need to put a slight rush on this system to compete with PS3/Xbox 360, it is understandable they will do it when the Wii is 4 years old.

I recckon that there working on he console now and it's going to be announced next year at e3!

i agree with Xander. Nintendo has been making systems every 5 years now. Why break the streak? i havent heard this from any other source too.

Hey, I think if it is true, that's great...but if it's not, just remember that Nintendo hasn't shown us anything yet.

I agree nintendo should slow down and let some stuff like the wii motion plus and such to settle and not have a handheld out every year.

actually if you take a look at this website: Wii 2 News - Latest Wii 2 Rumors and Info

It shows that Nintendo's Global President admitted that as soon as they finished with the Wii, they started on a new system. They do not want to release any info, but they have come up with some things already. Analysts agree that this timing makes perfect sense especially since the DSi LL has been confirmed for Quarter 1 of 2010 in the US. Nintendo plans on staying on top and not letting things settle while Sony and Microsoft release new things such as natal and the motion wands.

Though they aren't really releasing systems too often, each iteration of the Ds has not been a sequel to the system, but a new version. Just like there is an elite version of Xbox, or all the different models of the PS3.

yeah---Sony and Nintendo arent exactly "buddy-buddy" when it comes to sharing things...
and typically Nintendo makes some bonehead, behind the back deal with Philips...(OH GOD!!)

I hope the NEXT Wii, has HD, and some sort of CD/DVD playback...but who doesnt have a basic DVD or CD player.

Maybe "HD DVD"--or some other DVD technology.

Why would it be in French when most of the news comes from Japan..

If it is true, this is just stupid.
They are basically just copying everything a Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 has from 2-3 years ago.

By then the PS4 and Xbox720 will be out

No jima they are implementing all the technology that serious gamers want into a new system, no just "copying" like the xbox copied the miis or the Ps3 is releasing its motion wand controllers that are just like the wiimotes...and there is Nintendo of France, just like there is a US Nintendo and a Japan Nintendo, it seems Nintendo of Japan isn't stupid enough to let info get leaked, but all of the companies of Nintendo are notified about big things like if a new system is in the works.
