Hilariously fun turn-Based Strategy/Action series Worms has been confirmed to be Fire Punching its way to Wiiware with Worms: Battle Islands. Worms has already had its debut on Wii with retail game Worms: A Space Oddity, but crucially the game lacked any online play. This is set to change however, with confirmation that Battle Islands will have online play, so you can blast craters in your friends with Hand Grenades, Sheep, Banana Bombs and gigantic, Concrete Donkeys as you please for some classic Worms fun.

Don't worry, this isn't another terrible 3D affair either, with the game being the timeless 2D side-on look that we loved.

A few (sadly low-quality) screens have been revealed so far. Not revealing much, but you can see that customizable hats make their return here, as does the Epic last-gasp weapon known as Armageddon from PC and PlayStation classic Worms Armageddon.

Huge fan of the series and can't wait to start blasting the crap out of my friends here over WiFi.

Just please, for the love of god, bring back the classic theme tune and those funny video clips. xD

If its as good as Worms and Worms 2: Armaggedon on Xbox Live Arcade I may look into it, judging by the screenshot it looks pretty similar to them

This is going to be awesome. I had Worms: A Space Oddity, but the controls for that were horrid due to looking for a classic control style. Hopefully this will be a lot better.

i liket the space oddity but as u say weres the online mode im glad they decided to make another worms game cos u just cant get anoth of that game.

Meh, never really a big fan of the worms games. My most recent experience was with the xbox, didn't have to much fun with it. Maybe this one will be a bit... Different. So, I may purchase it.
