NP's Boot Camp

This boot camp is for members looking to get better at TDM and HCTDM in CoD:WaW or they just want to work on their skills being developped. The boot camp will have different classes, with each one focusing on a different set of skills. The student will be able to choose their instructor and is promitted to take 1 or more of the classes provided.

Rules:
1. Don't spam this thread please.
2. Don't constantly ask your instructor to help you (they are here for your benifit, don't make their job any harder than it has to be).
3. Be ready to learn and don't flame.
4. Have fun and don't argue with the instructors, if you have a complaint come to me, the 2nd in Command, or the Instructor's Trainer.
5. If you break any of these rules you will be prohibited from joining as a instructor or coming to this thread for help. The time prohibited will be determined by me, the 2nd in Command, and the instructor you have asked for (if you are a student) or by the Instructor's Trainer (if you are currently an instructor).

***NOTICE*** Me or any of the instructors will not teach Glitching spots or any glitches! Glitches are also forbiden throughout the training process. Learn the Glitches somewhere else!


Classes:


Betty Placement Class: This class will focus on those looking to improve their placement of betties and to find better places for them. The student will first show the instructor any and all of their most common betty kills. It will be the instructor's job to decide whether or not they meet the propper betty criteria. This is the only class that will accept glitching, but only for the betties and not the person.

The criteria for a good betty placement is (these are just the basics and some exceptions do apply):
1. Can't be easily seen.
2. Has certain killing power and unpredictability.
3. Is in a place commonly travelled.

-The instructor will conduct two different parts:
1. 1vs1 match on any three maps (more or less if the student requests it) of the student's choice. The instructor will determine whether or not the student has the skills to skip #2 or if they need more training. These matches will be conducted with TDM settings ON. The instructor must have the ability to determine whether a betty placement will work in both TDM and HCTDM, in only HCTDM, or not at all.

2. World matches. The student is not required to take this part if the instructor does not find any need to. The matches will be either HCTDM or TDM (the student decides). The instructor will record the number of betty kills you make and determine whether you need more training or if you pass.

Sniping Class: This class will focus on those looking to be snipers. The student and instructor will show each other their sniping spots. They will also have sniping practice with the instructor to enforce sniping skills. The instructor must know sniping spots that are effective and provides the best kill opportunity for the risks involved. The instructor should also know how to quick scope and no scope effectively (but doesn't have to be proficent at it, would help though). Glitching is unacceptable here, if the student or instructor is caught glitching, the person will be put on probation for a certain period of time.

-The sniping matches will be in three parts (with the student using their sniper class of choice in each part) #1 and #2 are optional, if the skill of the student is high, but #3 has to be done:

1. The instructor will conduct a 1vs1 match with the student. The instructor will be using a sniper and will mix long range and mid to short range. The student will choose the levels that he/she has the most problems with sniping.

2. The instructor will conduct a 1vs1 match with the student. The instructor will be using a gun of their choice (not a sniper) to assult the student. The student must practice shotting those moving targets and they must be prepared for close combat. Again the student will choose the level.

3. The instructor will conduct a TDM or HCTDM with the student against others world wide. This will be the final part and may take the longest to complete. The student will use all the skills they have learned in these matches. NOTE: the student does not have to snipe on dome, asylum, or courtyard if they don't want to, but they must snipe on castle, cliff side, upheaval, Makin and Hanger. If the student does not meet the expectation of the instructor then these matches will continue.

Close Combat Class: This class will focus on the close combat of CoD. The student will be expected to know how to make specialized classes for the spicific type of gun they use. They must also know the basics of strafing. The instructors must be able to strafe well in close combat situations and they must also be able to suggest classes for the student's choice choice of weapons (if needed).

The class will have two parts (part one may not apply if the student has the nessisary skills):
1. The instructor will teach the basics of strafing in a 1vs1 match and/or class adjustment to the student. The student is encouraged to practice skills learned in this section, even when the instructor is not pressent.

2. The student and the instructor will enter TDM's or HCTDM's (student's choice) and only use close combat classes (exceptions apply on cliff side and cliff side only). Advanced class making skills is offered, but not required.


CustomClass: This class is based on what the student wants to learn/practice that isn't mentioned above. RG practice and bazzooka practice, class management (on everything), pistol practice, you name it and the instructors will help to the best of their abilities.

The class may have one part or it may have many. This depends heavily on the skills of the student in his/her choice.
The instructor positions:
Head Instructor: The person who is the best at instructing everything and anything and he over sees that instructors are teaching their students properly. He also apoints people to instructor positions and is able to preform any and all of the instuctor positions.

2nd in Command: The person who has all the same qualifications as the Head Instructor and takes command when the Head instructor is not availible.

Instructor's Trainer: The person who trains any instructor that needs training and he/she will take command with the 2nd in Command when the Head Instructor is not availible.

All Around Instructors: The people that can teach anything. These people are suggested by the Trainer and apointed by the Head Instructor and the 2nd in Command.

Betty Instructors: The people who teach the Betty Placement Class. (appointed by the Head Instructor or 2nd in Command).

Sniper Instructors: The people who teach the Sniping Class (appointed by the Head Instructor or 2nd in Command).

Close Combat Instructors: The people who teach the Close Combat Class (appointed by the Head Instructor or 2nd in Command).

Custom Instructors: The people who teach the Custom Class (appointed by the Head Instructor or 2nd in Command)

Instructors in Training: people who are training to become an instructor. They may attend training matches with the All Around Instructors or the Trainer to assist in the instructing process.

Please refer to here for a Close Combat guide. It covers some of the basics you will need to perform in order to pass my class.

In order to pass my class, you will need to show:

• That you can effectively melee your opponent.
• You can take down an opponent quickly. (I will be moving... and you cannot "zoom" in)
• Your ability to fend off dogs.
• That you have sufficient ability with a pistol to survive in a situation.

I will be the "dummy" and I will move around and test you on your new skills. I may fire at you if you cannot kill me quickly enough. You will also be told to allow me to get 7 kills so I can test you on your dog survival.

@Ryan: if you can do those matches now add me and get on please ^_^ (oh and i have to test your 1vs1 AND TDM/HCTDM skills 'cause it is required for an instructor to see if a student is using the sniping spots correctly.) I have both accounts added so we can start anytime you are ready.

@Taco: ok you are in (just because i know you are just that good and try outs are optional for you just because of that fact).

Anyway, that sniping match was horrible for me. I swear, I hit B to fire at you, but your shot hit me first. :@

Good games anyway, you're the best I've gone up in a while. Especially sniping-wise.

I'm taking it that taco is the sniping instructor and I might get to be the close combat instructor? Haha.

well you did all right at sniping, your quick scoping is a little slow and your long range is in need of improvement. Your no scope was pretty good though. you won't get the sniping position 'cause of your skill (you can tryout again anytime after today ), but your close combat skills were very good (not found of TDM so i needed someone who was proficent at it and you fit that exilently) so you are now the Close Combat Instructor. oh and i'm looking for a good range of instructors so only having one sniping instructor isn't good because if too many people ask for sniping he would be overwhelmed... the more the better ;D
